Biography
From 1993 till 2004, I lived and worked as a professional artist in the Netherlands. Since 2004 till the present time, I am traveling between China and Europe. Besides creating continuously dancing sculptures which combining the eastern beauty of Zen art into the dancing movements, I work in the field of multimedia art as well. During these years, I set up my main concept which inspired my whole life and it is based on the Chinese philosophy of YIN & YANG, the eternal cycle and balance of ‘Opposition’ and ‘Unity’ of matter in the universe, and CHAN( ZEN in Japanese) philosophy: the art of living.
I am an artist coming from the East, have been in the West. To unite the two parts into one through my way of art is of great interest for me. My concept is based on eastern wisdom; my artistic discipline is mostly rooted in western art and eventually contemporary art, but both wisdom and art are universal, so far the West and the East can be united, then start from this point to expend uniting all parts of the world, and beyond it further till the universe... I prefer tranquility rather than just react simply from my inspiration. When my inspiration comes, the images always appear at first place, then the concepts follow up naturally. After that I do huge paper work to reduce all the unnecessary elements, till the last ones remained which are part of the essence of the work, both the concept and the image.
A level of simplicity that is full of complexity …is my ultimate goal.
I favor multimedia art, namely it includes all forms and medias possible of art, and I choose to use them according to which ones can perform the best for what I intent to show through my art.
The universe around us consists of TIME & SPACE, both are Infinity, and eternally cycle... The harmony between YIN & YANG is the state of balance within everything in the universe; CHAN( ZEN in Japanese) means the artistic way of living attitude. YIN & YANG and CHAN philosophies are the essential chains of my works, as derivatives the elements of SPACE (outer & inner / container & emptiness), TIME (the past/the present/the future), NUDITY (original form of being), MEDITATION (state of well being), MOVE (movement in time & space) and text documentation are already being and will be important parts of my works.
